He/she provides care, warmth, and support in accordance with the specified plan of care for the client.
To excel in this role, you should have an interest in health care and the ability to work with limited supervision keeping the patients needs your top priority.
Personal Care Attendant (PCA)
Responsibilities:
Report all significant changes in the client's circumstances to his/her immediate supervisor, within twenty-four (24) hours, of awareness / occurrence, or by the next working day.
Report emergency life-endangering situations to clients' family, doctor, and/or health officials within one (1) hour of awareness / occurrence.
Is responsible for keeping time sheets and any other documentation required by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services or by the Agency.
Perform all assigned tasks in compliance with the Agency policies, rules, and procedures.
Reports all client abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Assist client in the activities of daily living and help client with personal hygiene requirements.
(keeping with specific assignments) Provide supervision of activities and assist when necessary for protection from physical harm.
Continuously responsible to conscientiously watch for safety hazards to act immediately to remove them or take any other reasonable steps to remove the risk of danger.
Do not ever administer medications, only assist with reminders and/or retrieving water.

Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Competent to perform personal care and housekeeping tasks.
Have not been convicted of an offence under Chapter 3, 19 and 20 of the Texas Penal Code and other offenses under Section 250.
